Location: En route to Menyamya and the Whiteheads' village, Papua New Guinea
Today, Julie and I travelled to the Whiteheads' village. The first flight we took, we had to return to Ukarumpa because there were too many clouds. We tried again about a half hour later, went a different route, and made it to our destination. Menyamya has a grass strip, and we skidded a little when we landed. There was a slight drizzle and the grass was somewhat tall, which didn't help. The Whiteheads were waiting for us, and there were a lot of nationals, especially children, watching our every move. Next, we had an hour or so ride on the back of a four-wheeler on roads with stones, ruts, mud, potholes, wet grass, etc. back to the Whiteheads' village. People waved and children yelled greetings to us the whole way. When we reached their house, people, especially children, were waiting to greet us. We met Korin, the Whiteheads' eleven year old son. They also have a cat, Rascal, and a one and a half year old puppy, Midnight. I am really tired tonight. God, please give me the strength to be a blessing to those around me!
