Today was a restful day. This morning, we did laundry and went to a Lutheran church in town. The minister who spoke was Philippino, and the service was mostly in English. The format was very liturgical and Westernized. This afternoon, I worked on various assignments, email, and a devotional. I also got to chat with Jim and Ginny and Sharon at the Tomlinsons' flat, which was a blessing. I got to talk to Maggie some, too. She is a psychologist and a very caring, considerate person.

After supper, we had a Discovery meeting and talked some more about village living - the food, what to do with leftover food, the outhouses, spiritual experiences, what we learned about God, what God showed us, etc. Afterwards, there was a commisioning service for the Latinos and our Discovery group, and we laid hands on eachother and prayed. I laid my hand on Marcella, and she laid her hand on me in turn. Mary (a Bible translator with her husband) laid her hands on Julie and I and prayed against any fears or anxiety. Everyone's prayers were such a blessing. I am beginning to understand the "peace which surpasses knowledge..."
